Intensity at first sight is the new slogan of Nars for their new single and duo eyeshadows! :D
Nars has launched this fall a new line of single and duo eyeshadows featuring Nars' Pigment Powder Suspension technology that delivers incredible payoff, effortless blendability, and rich, long-wearing vibrant color.
This new formula ranges in four finishes from buttery matte and lustrous satin, to electric pops of color and glittering metallics.
When I first saw them, the glittering metallics immediately caught my eyes. They look so stunning and believe me, you have to see them in real life to really appreciate how gorgeous and beautiful they are, pictures don't do them justice.
I took pictures of my press document because they were all nicely classified by finish and I think this gives a nice overview of the colors they have so here they are!
Another interesting point for makeup lovers, the pans can easily be removed, you can just pop them out from the bottom, and then have them in a Z-palette for example. The name of the shadow is still on the pan and therefore you can still know what shadow it is. Very convenient!
Concerning the shadows I received, I got a mix of the different finishes (matte, satin, metallic, glitters, neutrals). I've been playing with them for a few weeks and I must say I really like them. One of the main reasons I like them is their blendability. I find it very easy to create a nice look, the shadows almost blend themselves and it litterally takes you 5 min to create an effortless look that looks like you took time and effort to create.
Typically I've been using this week every day Night Star (decribed as a light peach with pearl but to my eyes it's more a vanilla beige with gold glitters) on my whole lid, diffused Kuala Lumpur I (a shimmery gold-pink) in the crease as a transition and deepened the crease with Kuala Lumpur II (a medium Berry). This makes a simple and beautiful every day look I absolutely love.
Another combos I love is: Night Star (yes again...!!), Kingston (matte grey taupe), and Night Porter (deep green with gold pearl); I also like Kashmir (metallic champagne beige), Kingston (yes again :p ) and Earthshine (iridescent pink lilac <3)!
Overall I really like these new shadows. I think the formula is easier to blend than some previous Nars shadows and that's what I find is the most important when it comes to eyeshadows.
If you like glittery or eye-catching shimmery shadows, I can highly recommend the "hardwired sheens", they're gorgeous, seriously gorgeous!
And...I also wanted to show you the Velvet Lip Glide (Fondant à Lèvres) that I got recently: Swing (a pink caramel kind of color) and Roseland (a pink nude, mauve).
I love the formula of these: they're super shiny but not sticky and have the most comfortable wear I've tried I believe. They feel super moisturizing, like if you had applied a super nourrishing lip product on the lips. They're very moisturizing but not to the point they go everywhere and you have to worry about having lipstick on your chin or on your teeth :D I think they're perfect for colder days when your lips start to feel drier. Beautiful lip lacquers, honestly!
