Hello my friends,
Thank goodness for the month of January!
The cooler temps keep us in doors more and allows us some organizing time.
My craft room has been in terrible disarray for months.
It all started when I was hosting estate sales at my home. We did a total of 8 and it kept me very busy keeping things from overtaking my home.
When I did find time to craft, I never seemed to find time to clean up like I needed to.
Then as many of you know things changed drastically for me in July when I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Needless to say that cleaning my craft room was the
last thing on my mind.
Recently I shared a video on Instagram of how messy it was. That video of shame is all it took to motivate me to, "get er done". I spent a few hours last Saturday and although there's still a lot in this room it feels so good to have everything in it's place!
Would you like to join me on a tour?
This shelf holds my vintage camera collection. A banner I made a few years ago and a felt ball one I bought from a blog friend, Holly from Cutie Pie Cottage are draped across the front.
Speaking of blog friends, it saddens me that many of my original friends no longer blog. : (
This desk is in the right corner of the back wall. It's special to me because it belonged to my father. He passed away when I was only 9 months old. Although I never knew him, I love having something that belonged to him!
I've corralled my fillers in a cute basket.
I have to show you this sweet deer lamp. I bought it from the estate sale. The shade is one I made a long time ago. Notice the photos of the boys with their bunnies? It's my sweet hubby and his little brother. Old photos are priceless, don't you think?
I bought this fun thread holder filled with thread for $5 at a flea market. Now and then I use thread in a craft project.
This tall cabinet with cubbies is great for storing small items.
I usually leave the sliding barn doors open because I love looking at all of my crafting supplies. I think I was ready for a cleaner look and decided to close them for a while.
This is my actual work space. It's an old laundry table. There was not a clean area at all before I did the organizing.
That amount of space works perfectly for me.
I like having my supplies close at hand, as well as having some cute things to look at. :)
Bambi was a gift from a friend, and the little mushroom scene was created in craft group.
Another gift from a friend.
This cabinet has to be my favorite find.
This is how messy the top was.
I gathered all of the Christmas items and put them in the green bushel basket I bought at a recent estate sale. The rattan basket holds moss and assorted fillers.
This is what the corner looked like. I had just been sitting anything Christmas themed in the corner. It really needed to be organized!
I used the smaller basket for Easter crafting supplies and placed it underneath one end of the table.
I use my bottle brush trees all throughout the year. In fact, I've already pulled the pink ones out for Valentines. I have this small shopping cart and it worked well. They're too cute to hide!
I smile at how just the smallest things make me ever so happy.
I keep a few of my trinkets out to enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by.
Now that I have a clean room, I think you'll find me in there crafting. I have to clean so that I can make another mess. (wink)
Here's the video I shared on Instagram, in case you're interested.
hugs,
I will be sharing with these lovely blogs:
