Today, we have a mashup of posts (five posts mashed up into one), and we look at D. C. Thomson's most prolific artist, Dudley D. Watkins.

Our first strip features Beano favourite, Biffo the Bear. (I'll have a seperate post on Biffo down the track.)

This originally appeared in the Beano, issue dated 13/2/65. Biffo is having problems getting his charges off to sleep.

DESPERATE DAN (the Dandy)

First Appearance: No. 1 (4/12/1937)

Final Appearance: No. 3610 (8/12/2012)

Also appeared in the Dandy Annuals to this very day.

Todays Episode of Desperate Dan originally appeared in the Dandy on 23/1/65.

I'll have a bit mote Dan in the next Summer of Fun post, later on today.

GINGER (the Beezer)

While todays strip originally appeared in the Beezer on 18/9/65, this is a reprint from Classics from the Comics.

Like Dan, Ginger will appear in a future Summer of Fun post.
